The Dreaming Tree 6 by Boggleboy The Dreaming Tree 6 by Boggleboy
This is one of two sculpts that I did from molds I made from series of original faces I sculpted for a variety of projects I have in the works right now. I then altered each one of the "molded" faces and blended them together to achieve an overall flow and continuity within each plaque. I will then fix these both permanently to a larger piece of driftwood that I am embellishing for inclusion in a show that I am to do later this year in November.

The title of this piece went through many changes until I cam to "The Dreaming Tree" The piece of "driftwood" that this will be attached to is really pretty much a small tree that was uprooted by either construction or by a series of torrential rains we've been receiving these last few years- both of which make me sad- and thus it eventually wound up in the river and was washed up on the levy after some pretty severe flooding we had back in November of 2006. I liberated several large pieces from that location for the very reason and with the intention of using them in my upcoming show. And before any one yells at me for removing them from a natural environment wherein they would have been used by other animals, the city keeps the levy free of debris and these pieces would have been hauled away and dumped in a landfill or burned in the incinerator.
