Spruce is a jolly old fellow, as these somewhat quiet and thoughtful creatures go. But his passion is the telling of all the tales that have been told to him and his kind or that have unfolded beneath his own sweet scented boughs. Spruce is filled with tales merry and scary. His list is long of harrowing yarns whose ends can not be predicted and silly stories that puzzle and delight, or narratives filled with magic and adventure. All these are stored within Spruce’s unseen library of accounts and adventures. Often these tales have been told to Spruce alone, and he passes them on to any open enough to hear them that have come to visit his grove. They will come to the lucky one in dreams or sudden visions of inspiration- blasting even the most intractable case of writer’s block. He is friend to all tellers of tales and keepers of chronicles. Spruce is brother to the bard and companion to the balladeer. Sit and listen a while to what tales the trees have to tell…

Very nice Kevin.......um.....so these wont have bodies....they're like coffe table....OH, what about making candle holders with head like these?

And I'm ready to get that acorn necklace. :excited:

It's on it's way....

Yeah, sort of...they were intended originally to be a sort of very different Christmas ornament: some came with a string attached for hanging, others were larger and meant to be put upon a shelf. Most folks who bought them, though, have left them out all year, and from there on they really evolved. Yuri was the first attempt by me to turn certain ones into completed figs.

"And I'm ready to get that acorn necklace." Just let me know! ;)

Ah, I can help with that! Spruce told me to do one thing and one thing alone when assailed by writers block: lower your standards. Just write anything, even if you are thinking the entire time "This is crap this is crap on a crap cracker..." This will- I promise you- clear out all the, well, crap! And this will uncover the gems lying under the dirty turds blocking your creative flow. Hmmmmm...not the best analogy, but there it is! Seriously, that kind of stuff is like a giant Pez dispenser with various flavors mixed in- you have to go through some yucky ones before you get to the one you really wanted!

Now, look out your window, or go outside and find the nearest pine tree...now look waaaaayyyy up into the top. Do you see Spruce? ;)
