Mini Faerie Ring3

This is an outdoor shot of a tiny little Magic Faerie Ring I made from a bit of drift wood that is only about an inch to 1 1/2 inch long, various mosses- the bright green one courtesy of my wonderful friend - some semi-precious stone chips- courtesy of another wonderful friend - and mushrooms- only about an inch tall themselves- that I made out of Makin's Air Dry Clay. It was really hard to work with at first, because it is very different from what I'm used to, but I got the hang of it. You gotta do that sculpt right then and there!!! No setting this stuff aside for long- eventhough you can cover it in a wet paper towel and put it in an airtight container, it will only keep for so long before it actually gets too soft and gooey to work with until it dries out some more.

These mushrooms do have- by the way- the added support of a tiny wire armature within their stems.

Any way, I finished this in a series of coats of acrylic paint, then sealed it with a glossy finish to give the mushrooms that wet living look. They are to be the topper for a tassel that commissioned from me.
