Faerie Woods 4

Aaaaand.... another one of the several Work In Progress pics of some of the largest sculptural/mixed medium pieces I will have ever done to date. God help me...

The one I'm holding and pretending to be focused on in this pic is eventually going to be mounted on a board, framed sort of, and will have moss and stuff added and have a larger wood spirit head poking out, gazing at the viewers and intruders into its woodland. I tried to come up with ideas for a couple of pieces that could be hung upon the wall. This is one. The other is supposed to be a flying wooden ship that I am in the process of making bronze and copper wings for out of sheets made from said metals. It will have either the full moon or the crescent moon ornaments mounted on the back ground along with one of the star baby ornaments in a painted night time sky back ground and will have two or three little figs in it. It will be my own version of a sort of Ship of Fools.


These are meant to be part of the gallery show I have coming up in November at Edison Community College in Piqua Ohio- like you all plan on being there...

Anyway, they all have a way to go yet...all pieces pictured here are just some that will be part of said show- there will be many others that will be much smaller than these. The idea I have is to add dried shelf-fungus and moss and other bits and pieces along with some of my not-even-frigging-sculpted-yet-figures to these trees. The platforms on which they are mounted will have natural and artificial elements added to further enhance the illusion of being within my magical worlds... let's hope this works and I get it all done.
